Falls Creek special ski week and weekend for the girls

Monday, 13 Jul, 2007 0

This year’s Falls Creek Snowsports women’s ski program, named after the very
talented skier Mim Sodergren, will be held between 30 Jul – 3 August 2007, with the very popular five day women’s ski program begins on Sunday evening
when participants meet their instructors for the first time at Winterhaven
Restaurant in the heart of the alpine resort.

A hand-picked group of Falls Creek Snowsports School’s women instructors
will focus on each participant’s desire to improve her skiing prowess, in
a comfortable and caring environment, with quite a number of The Mim Sodergren Women’s Ski Program participants regulars.

However, an influx of new ‘faces’ each winter ensure the program remains vibrant and ensures the women achieve some significant goals.

A key factor behind the success of the women’s program (started by an American-born instructor Mim Sodergren who’s legendary teaching skills are fondly remembered by countless Falls Creek skiers) is the participants work together in smallish groups.

This gives the instructor ample time to demonstrate and pass on the sought-after skiing techniques and there’s lots of time to discuss and encourage each
others’ specific needs, both on and off the snow.

Each small group will ski together until about four each afternoon with a break for lunch at various venues around the mountain, this providing an opportunity to sample the numerous eating places and discuss each participants progress with their hand-picked instructor.

All the women are invited for cocktails at Milch, on Wednesday evening, and a Mim Sodergren Women’s Ski Program presentation dinner on Thursday evening at Gateway café.

Plus, discounted endota spa sessions are offered to women’s program participants and the opportunity to ride up front with a groomer guru (whilst on a Grooming Tour) in a state of the art Snow Kat can be won at the registration night.

The Five Day Women’s Ski Program costs AUD$999 per person including an
unlimited 5 day ski lift pass, invaluable support from the instructors and like-minded women participating in the annual five day Mim Sodergren Women’s Ski Program, video analysis, women’s program dinner, group picture and priceless memories of their experience at Falls Creek.

A shorter, three day version of the Falls Creek-based Women’s Ski Program is also held between Saturday 4 – Monday 6 August, costs $619 per person including a three day ski lift ticket, expert guidance by a women instructor, video analysis, women’s program dinner, group picture and a Falls creek momento.
