The funeral of Chloe Rutherford, an agent at Westoe Travel in South Shields, took place yesterday,
Chloe, 17, and her boyfriend Liam Page, 19, were tragically killed in last month’s Manchester terror attack.
Hundreds of people, including family, friends and colleagues, attended a joint funeral service yesterday to remember the young couple. The church was so full that many gathered outside, listening to the service on loud speakers.
In a joint statement, the families said the couple adored each other and wanted to be together forever.
Chloe worked part time for Westoe Travel and had been due to take up a full time position next week.
Westoe Travel posted a message on Facebook thanking all of its travel colleagues and friends on behalf of the families.
Ken Garrity, director of Ken Garrity Travel in Altrincham, and Jill Waite, owner of Pole Travel Failsworth Manchester, have set up an appeal to raise money for the families, which has already raised over £2,400. The target is £10,000.
After being contacted by travel colleagues wishing to offer support, Westoe Travel is also holding a raffle to help raise funds for the Together Forever appeal.
