if you fancy warming up a little and having taste of the tropical north, then The Oaks Hotel on Military Road in Neutral Bay in Sydney, just over the Harbour Bridge tonight, Monday 23 July at 6:00pm and tomorrow Tuesday 24 July and The Roxy at 69 George Street, Parramatta at 6:00pm, are the places to be.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland operators will be presenting winter travel options to New South Wales travel agents at two “Change Your Latitude” event with New South Wales visitors contributing 1.7 million room nights in Tropical North Queensland over the past 12 months.
This number is set to grow following this dedicated roadshow designed to educate hundreds of travel agents on just how easy it is to head north during the winter cold snap.
Average winter temperatures in Tropical North Queensland are nudging 26 degrees so all you’ll need up there are t-shirts and swimwear and nights are just as good, averaging 17 degrees and the swimming is even better with the calm waters off Port Douglas and Cairns currently sitting at a balmy 25 degrees.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland’s Elizabeth Webb and eleven tourism operators are showcasing their wares to more than 100 travel agents at the two events in Sydney, as listed above, on the 23rd and 24th of July as part of a two-week roadshow through the southern states.
In 2006, Tropical North Queensland welcomed more than 1.5 million* Australians (second only to Sydney) and that figure continues to grow as the region becomes more accessible to Southern travellers.
