Fast-thinking BA pilot rewarded with Barbados trip
The pilot of the British Airways flight which caught fire on the runway at Las Vegas has retired and been given a free flight to Barbados.
Chris Henkey, 63, was praised for the way he handled the incident earlier this month when 157 passengers and 13 crew had to be evacuated.
All those on board safely disembarked in just five minutes when the Boeing 777 caught fire just before take-off.
BA has now given Henkey and his 42-year-old fiancee a trip to Barbados, which was supposed to be the destination of his last flight before retirement.
