Shorter crossing times and increased peak season frequency between the UK and Ireland is being promised by Stena Line.
The ferry company has started deploying a 520-passenger Stena Express Fastcraft on the Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire route.
The vessel, which carries up to 120 cars, has been upgraded following a £2 million refit.
On board facilities include an extended Stena Plus lounge, Metropolitan and Barista coffee bar, free WiFi and a shop.
The Fastcraft can make the Irish Sea in 110 minutes.
“The vessel will complement our Superferries, the Stena Nordica and Stena Adventurer, on the Holyhead to Dublin Port route, offering customers a great range of travel options with up to six round trips daily,” said Dermot Cairns, general manager for travel on the Irish Sea.
