Fauci: Mask wearing on flights ‘here to stay’
The White House’s chief medical advisor Dr.Anthony Fauci says mask wearing on flights could be here to stay. Fauci told ABC’s ‘This Week’ it would be ‘prudent’ to keep the mask mandate even with the good air filtration systems on board planes.
"I think when you’re dealing with a closed space, that you want to go that extra step when you have people — you get a flight from Washington to San Francisco, it’s well over a five-hour flight," Fauci said.
Fauci also said vaccinated people can comfortably travel for the holidays but that they shouldn’t gather with people ‘you do not know what their vaccination status is.’
