Fayetteville soldiers on for business travelers

Saturday, 04 Oct, 2005 0

Business travelers looking for a bargain might eye little-known Fayetteville, SC.

It’s the fifth most affordable destination for business travelers in the South, says Runzheimer’s Travel Management Network.

Perhaps best-known as a military outpost, Fayetteville is also attracting group business.

“Fayetteville is really getting ready to turn the page and become a city to be reckoned with,” George Livingston, general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott, told Knight/Ridder.

Fort Brag draws much of the visitors to the area. But other major companies with a presence here include DuPont, and Black & Decker.
