Fewer than a third of Brits plan to take an overseas holiday next year, says YouGov survey
Three out of every 10 Brits don’t intend to take a holiday next year and only 30% are planning an overseas trip, according to a new survey.
The majority – 67% – said current travel restrictions are putting them off going away, while 58% said they have health concerns.
Brits are the most likely nationality – alongside Singaporeans – to say they’re being prevented from travelling by new restrictions.
The survey by research agency YouGov across 25 countries found that in most countries except the UK health concerns were the biggest deterrent to travel.
The fact that only 3% are planning a foreign business trip in 2021, according to the survey, will be a blow to the corporate travel sector.
Its data came from Global Travel Profiles, a new research tool which tracks global consumer sentiment and attitudes in the largest travel and tourism markets.
It was created so that those in the tourism industry can analyse how to best target their audiences for growth, identifying who is ready to travel when, and what kind of travel they are planning.
