Fifth Celebrity Cruises Edge-class ship ordered
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd has inked an agreement with Chantiers de l’Atlantique to build a fifth Celebrity Cruises Edge-class ship.
It is slated for delivery in 2024.
It will be the ninth Celebrity ship built at the shipyard and the 24th in all for Royal Caribbean brands.
The Celebrity Edge launched last year, and is notable for its ‘Magic Carpet’ floating deck which serves as an adapted tender and lifestyle space and bar.
"Celebrity Edge has delighted our guests. Chantiers de l’Atlantique has been a brilliant partner and we look forward to creating another amazing vessel," said CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo.
Three other Edge-class ships are on order with the next, Celebrity Apex due for delivery next year.
Two more will launch in 2021 and 2022.
