Fiji consumer campaign starts moving
With the TravelMole, Fiji trade campaign gathering momentum continuously, reaching travel agents throughout Australia, New Zealand and further afield, Fiji’s Tourism Action Group and Fiji Visitors Bureau campaign got underway over last weekend with full page ads in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph and Sun Herald and the Melbourne Age.
The Mole was unable to obtain any comment from the offices of the Fiji Visitors Bureau in Nadi or Sydney, with only the accountant answering the phone in Sydney.
It appears that everybody else was on leave and who blames them and that new Regional Director was not starting until the second week in January.
In any case, being tenacious, The Mole was able to track down outgoing Australia Regional Director Ili Matatolu in Fiji, who confirmed that the new print ad went out Sunday containing Fiji and Pacific Specialist Holidays product and that verbal reports showed that 100 calls had been received as of yesterday and about 60 bookings made.
She also confirmed that others were in the pipeline with these ads being repeated every weekend and the 2nd phase television campaign starting on Sun 14 Jan on Ch 7 and 10, running until 27 January.
Ili confirmed that the TV ads would be both branding and tactical with the call to action using Harvey World Travel’s retail chain.
