Firefighters hurt by fumes from BA jet
Five firefighters in the United States have reportedly been injured after they were called to an incident on a British Airways plane as it landed in Boston. According to the BBC News website, the captain on the London-to-Boston service reported smelling fumes when the plane landed at Logan International Airport on Monday morning. While the 219 passengers and 14 crew were unharmed, the firefighters reportedly complained of “burning eyes and throats”. They reportedly discovered a small fire in an electronic wiring area on the underside of the jet. All the passengers left the plane before the emergency services arrived, according to a spokesman for the airline. Report by Tim Gillett, News From Abroad Ltd
