First athletes test positive at Tokyo Olympic Village
Two athletes at Tokyo’s Olympic Village have tested positive for Covid-19. They are the first competing athletes at the Tokyo Games to test positive. A third athlete staying outside the Olympic Village was also tested positive. All three were ‘non-Japanese;’ authorities said.
They are the first athletes although 55 people here for the Olympics have reported positive tests, such as training and support staff and team officials. The Olympic Village at Tokyo Bay will house 11,000 Olympic athletes and thousands of other support staff.
