First Choice to stage live TV wedding proposal in travel industry first
First Choice will air a live leap year wedding proposal on ITV during this evening’s episode of Coronation Street.
Viewers will see a woman propose to her boyfriend during the 8.30pm ad break in a 60-second spot fronted by TV presenter Laura Whitmore.
The proposal is part of a JustSayYes marketing campaign by First Choice, which has been running teasers to tonight’s proposal in its shop windows, in newspaper ads and on social media channels.
During and after the proposal, there will be further support across digital and social channels, driving awareness of and using the #JustSayYes.
Two other wedding proposals will also be filmed by First Choice and shared online and on the First Choice website.
Marketing director Jeremy Ellis said: "This is a really exciting activation for us, and it’s totally different to anything we’ve done before.
"For us, in today’s environment, it’s about so much more than focusing on sales, it’s about producing engaging content, telling great stories and trying to reach new and core audiences in a different way.
"We just felt that this fits so well with the First Choice brand philosophy of ‘Life’s too short to say no’.
"Finally we’d like to say a huge thank you to the couples involved. We hope to get a yes from all three and then we’ll be back in touch to help them plan their honeymoons."
