First gay cruise from Sydney announced
With cruising now recognised as the world’s strongest tourism growth sector, the gay community of Australia now has the opportunity to joining that growth, with the first gay cruise out of Sydney taking place in March 2007.
All Gay Cruises Managing Director, Peter Oxford told The Mole that places were filling very fast on their first cruise called NaviGAYtion, with some cabins and suites already taken, also telling the gay community of Australia to get booking to avoid not being able to get on board.
Gay only cruises have been operating in the USA and Europe for some time, but this is the first out of Australia, being described by Peter Oxford as “the most exciting & innovative cruise to ever depart from Australia”.
The three day cruise to nowhere will run from Sydney to Sydney on P&O’s 1,900 passenger Pacific Sun, charted exclusively for the event, leaving Sydney on 29 March 2007, returning on 1 April 2007 featuring a Cruise Director called “Fahrenheit”, eight world famous DJ’s hosting six themed parties, comedy and cabaret shows, as well as a swimwear competitions.
