First Marriott branded hotel opens Yogyakarta
Marriott International has unveiled Indonesia’s first Marriott branded hotel, which recently opened its doors in the Javanese cultural hotspot of Yogyakarta.
Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel is situated in a strategic location just 20 minutes from the city’s historic attractions including the 18th-century Keraton Royal Palace.
It features 347 guestrooms and suites, expansive meeting and event space, including a 1,870-square-metre pillar-less ballroom, which is the largest in the city, three dining venues, the signature M-Club lounge, a spa and swimming pool.
"We are extremely excited to introduce the Marriott Hotels’ ‘Travel Brilliantly’ ethos to a new destination. Indonesia is one of our fastest-growing source markets for both domestic and international travel and it is only fitting that the Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel is in such a historic and culturally significant destination," said Mike Fulkerson, brand & marketing, vice president Asia-Pacific, Marriott International.
Guestroom interiors are designed in the Marriott Modern style with cutting edge technology and fast Wi-Fi connection.
"Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel is not only the newest hotel in the historic city, but is also leading the pack in terms of innovative meeting facilities for business travellers as well as easy access to all of the city’s tourist attractions," said Alain Rigodin, general manager, Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel.
Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel is just a short drive from Jogya’s Adi Sutjipto International Airport and about one hour from famed UNESCO World Heritage Site Borobudur temple.
