First Routes event for Commonwealth of Independent States

The first Routes aviation and airport event for the Commonwealth of Independent States is to be held in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Routes CIS is to run on June 7-9, providing the region’s airlines and airports with a platform to do business and improve its air transport networks.
The event will include formal and informal networking opportunities, a Strategy Forum, the City Pair Meeting Zone and Route Exchange.
Route Exchange, the online bidding platform for new routes, will be hosting airline briefings at Routes CIS, where carriers will be given the opportunity to outline their plans for the sector, allowing airports to best understand the requirements when analysing potential new destinations.
Carriers will also take extended meetings at Routes CIS to follow up their online proposals.
This is the first time that a Routes event has been held in the region and the first time an airport terminal will be used as a venue.
Routes chairman Mike Howarth said: “We are delighted to launch the first annual Routes CIS event, bringing together airlines and airports from both within the CIS region and those who have an interest in this growing market.
“It recognizes the vital importance of air travel to the CIS region particularly as an economic generator.
“The new airport terminal at Kharkiv is an appropriate place to launch this new event, and it symbolizes the revival of aviation in the CIS region.”
Routes CIS, has already attracted high levels of interest from both inside and outside the region.
Registered airlines include: Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Air Baltic, Astraeus Airlines, AZAL, Georgian Airways, Dniproavia, Khors Air Company, LOT Polish, Qatar Airways, S7 Airlines, Ukraine Airlines, URAL Airlines, UT Air and Windrose Air.
Airports include: Abu Dhabi Airports Company, Anapa Airport, Astrakhan Airport – JSC, Budapest Airport, Chisinau International Airport, Cologne Bonn Airport, Fujairah International Airport, Gelendzhik Airport, Hannover, Istanbul Sabiha Gocken International Airport, Karagandy International Airport, Keolis Airports, Krasnodar Airport, Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo, Prague Airport, Rostov-on-Don Airport, Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow, Sochi Airport, Sumy Airport, Vienna International Airport, Vnukovo Handling Airport.
