Five Britons confirmed dead in coach crash
Five British tourists are now known to have been killed in a coach crash near the Austrian city of Salzburg.
Dozens of passengers on the coach, which was carrying mostly British tourists, were injured when the coach left a road and fell some 30 metres down an embankment.
According to The Independent newspaper, there were 46 tourists on the bus, made up of 42 Britons, two Germans and two Russians.
The newspaper reports that nine rescue helicopters were sent to the scene and that it took an hour to pull all the survivors from the wreckage of the coach.
The passengers on the coach were on an excursion organised by the tour operator Inghams. According to the BBC, Inghams is organising for survivors of the crash to be flown home, if they want to.
