Flight Centre revamps Student Flights brand
Flight Centre has unveiled a major overhaul for its Student Flights brand.
Acknowledging the outdated name was ‘hampering its growth potential’ it has been rebranded to the more inclusive Universal Traveller.
It will target a similar demographic with a focus on 18-35 years old but bearing in mind ‘the customer base and product offering have significantly evolved’ the company said.
It will offer discounted and flexible fares for students and under-30s, small group adventure and expedition tours and Topdeck and Contiki itineraries.
"We believe Universal Traveller more accurately reflects the brand’s specialisation and will resonate with the broader customer base of students, backpackers and young professionals," the company said.
Student Flights launched in Australia in the 1990s offering discounted flights for students and backpackers.
The recently acquired Boston-based StudentUniverse online travel agency will further enhance the group’s youth travel offerings when it launches soon in Australia, Flight Centre said.
