Flight Centre takes control of Ignite Travel Group
Flight Centre Travel Group is now the full owner of Gold Coast-based Ignite Travel Group.
Flight Centre held a 49% stake and reached an agreement to fully acquire the company which operates in Australia and New Zealand markets.
Ignite offers holiday packages under My Holiday Centre brands such as MyFiji, MyHawaii and MyCruises.
It will have its products integrated within Flight Centre’s leisure network.
"Ignite has been hugely successful, growing sales more than 40% per annum for the past two years, and we are excited by its future potential in Australia and overseas,’ said Flight Centre MD, Turner.
"Full ownership of the business will allow for integration of Ignite’s innovative products and will deliver new offerings and choices to our customers."
Flight Centre and Ignite will also look to push the brand into international markets and will set up a 50-50 joint venture business for this.
"Expanding our presence through the Flight Centre network will not only benefit our travel partners, but will also help attract a new customer segment to Flight Centre and to bring this new product range to other markets internationally," said Randall Deer, founder and managing director of Ignite.
