The Park Plaza Hotel Tallahassee opened up in a growing area of tourist interest.

Unlike most Florida destinations, Tallahassee is land-locked but it is also the state’s capitol and of interest from a historic standpoint.

The new hotel is near the Capitol Complex and Tallahassee Civic Center. Groups of up to 200 can be accommodated.

Parent Company Carlson Hotels Worldwide also announced that it had added nine locations in July, some of them in the US.

“As 2005 continues to unfold, our brands development efforts are accelerating,” said Sam Winterbottom, executive vice president of development, Carlson Hotels Worldwide.
