Florida’s Punta Gorda looks to boost profile in the UK
Southwest Florida’s Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor and Convention Bureau has appointed its first UK representation agency.
It has appointed Cellet Marketing and Public Relations Ltd to market the destination in the UK and boost awareness of the Charlotte County area to leisure travellers.
Situated on the west coast around 100 miles south of Tampa, Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach enjoys 830 miles of unspoiled shoreline along the Gulf of Mexico.
Cellet will work with the VCB to grow the brand in the UK and raise its profile through various marketing initiatives.
Sean Doherty, Tourism Director of Punta/Gorda Engelwood Beach, said: “Cellet has a long history of expertise in marketing US destinations, including Florida.”
“This experience will help us establish Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach as a top-of-mind destination for the UK traveller.”
“The direct flight from London to Tampa makes Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach the perfect destination for a fly-drive tout,” said Cellet MD, Yolanda Fletcher.
“We will be working with key tour operators and media to drive bookings into the destination.”
