Flybe adds new route from Gatwick
Flybe is to make London Gatwick its 14th base after announcing a new Dusseldorf service from the airport.
The new route, which starts on June 22, will operate three times a day on weekdays, daily on Saturdays and twice daily on Sundays.
Flybe chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: “Dusseldorf has been a big success for Flybe out of Southampton, Manchester and Birmingham. We have big plans to grow further in Germany and this new route from Gatwick shows we mean business.â€
Flybe has grown rapidly at London Gatwick over the last 18 months, adding services to Aberdeen, Newcastle and Newquay, and now claims to be the third largest slot-holder at the airport.
This latest addition means Flybe will be operating nearly 500 flights a week from Gatwick this summer.
Flights on the new Dusseldorf route can be booked from today with opening fares from £29.99 one way including taxes and airport charges available until April 17.
