Flybe launches dynamic packaging
Flybe has launched the sale of hotels and other holiday extras online in a bid to get customers booking their entire holiday through its website.
The no-frills airline launched a tender process last year to select a suitable European hotel provider and eventually chose Travel Extras in a deal announced this week.
The content provided by Travel Extras includes hotels, ski accommodation, travel insurance, currency exchange and airport parking.
Customers can dynamically package the content they choose and pay for it in a single shopping basket.
The service, dubbed myeXtras.com, is being marketed through Flybe.com and in email newsletters to its customer base.
It went live on Monday. Car rental is not provided by Travel Extras as Flybe has an ongoing deal with Avis to be its preferred supplier.
Commenting on the deal Flybe head of marketing Simon Lilley said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with Travel Extras to provide our customers with over 20,000 accommodation choices across the UK and Europe.
We are now able to offer more related travel products and service than any other UK low fare airline, and have one of the highest levels of ancillary revenue spend per passenger in the industry.”
