Flybe repeats APD offer
Flybe has decided to repeat its special promotion where it covers the cost of Air Passenger Duty for its customers for a limited time.
It says the promotion, designed to highlight the "unfair" tax, was a great success when it was run earlier this month.
"Passengers not only signed in their thousands the airline’s online petition to protest the Government’s unfair APD departure tax, but also wanted an extension of the offer and requested that the travel period be adjusted to include Summer 2013 travel," said a Flybe spokesman.
The latest offer will apply to customers making new bookings online from today (April 19) through to Tuesday April 23, for travel between July 1 2013 and October 25 2014.
The "tax rebate" effectively lowers one way fares by £13, and by £26 on return UK domestic fares.
Flybe is urging customers to sign its online APD petition at www.flybe.com/taxrebate, which it will present to the Government. The petition calls on the Treasury to introduce a fair deal for UK domestic aviation.
