Flyer faces USD250,000 fine for not wearing mask, urinating in cabin
A disruptive Alaska Airlines passenger is facing the possibility of a huge fine and up to 20 years in prison after initially refusing to wear a mask. Landon Grier of Canon City, Colorado, then urinated in the cabin.
He was released on $10,000 bond pending his next court appearance. "We will not tolerate any disturbance onboard our aircraft or at any of the airports we serve," Alaska Air said in a statement.
Separately, the Federal Aviation Administration proposed another hefty fine of nearly $15,000 for a passenger refusing to wear a face mask.
The JetBlue customer is accused of interfering with flight attendants after being told to put his face mask on and stop drinking alcohol he had brought on the plane.
