Flying Nemo: Winter storm bears down on US Northeast, flights cancelled
A historic winter storm called "Nemo" is bearing down on the US Northeast corridor, starting on Friday with rain and a mix of snow.
The Weather Channel says cooling temperatures on Friday afternoon and early evening will change the rain to snow which may accumulate to over a foot in some areas.
All major US airlines have offered passengers penalty-free flight changes including American, Delta, JetBllue, US Airways and Southwest Airlines. Affected cities and airports include Boston, Buffalo, Hartford, JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, Rochester, Syracuse and White Plains.
