Former Advantage director to grow Mystifly
Advantage’s former business travel director Norman Gage has joined air consolidator, Mystifly, as senior vice president for Europe due to his passion for its MyFareBox product.
MyFareBox links to air fares in local markets allowing travel management companies (TMC) without overseas branches to access competitive overseas fares.
Gage is selling the tool in Europe as well as TMCs in the UK with the software already redesigned in Spanish. Gage is also in ‘loose discussion’ with two Italian groups.
The Worldwide Independent Travel Network (WIN) has signed up to MyFareBox and will go live with it on August 1.
Gage said: "I used to go home crying when UK travel agents lost business to the big multi-nationals because they didn’t have an overseas office.
"MyFareBox looks at fares in local markets and adds value to agents.
"The airlines could cry foul but it’s the airlines which created this imbalance through their pricing."
CEO and managing director of Mystifly, Rajeev Kumar said of Gage’s appointment: "I am always amazed with his passion, commitment & dedication to work. His attention to detail and his methodical planning are his biggest assets and will add great value to Mystifly."
Gage, who left travel agent consortium Advantage in 2011 to be a consultant, will also continue as a director of New Generation Consultancy.
