Former BCal boss joins Eos

Former British Caledonian Airways chief executive and senior United Airlines director David Coltman has joined the board of Eos Airlines.

He brings more than 30 years of airline and travel industry experience to the business class-only carrier which operates transatlantic flights from Stansted.

Coltman’s appointment comes days after American Airlines announced plans to compete against Eos and rival MaxJet on the Stansted-New York route from the autumn.

Eos CEO Jack Williams said: “David brings a wealth of airline and travel experience to our board, and we are extremely pleased to have him join us.

“As Eos brings its ‘uncrowded’ travel experience to new markets, his insight and expertise will play a key role in our keeping the leadership position we currently enjoy.”

Coltman is currently chairman of Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust and senior independent director at John Menzies. He was previously chairman of Galileo, Opodo, and Apollo Travel Services, was on the board of British Regional Airlines Group, and Dunedin Income Growth Investment Trust.

He said: “This is a very exciting time to be joining Eos, particularly as a board member. The innovative vision that is backed with operational excellence here has set the course for Eos to continue its emergence in the growing all-premium air travel market.”
