Former M&S chief tipped to join BA parent
Marks & Spencer’s former chief executive Marc Bolland is expected to be named as a non-executive director of British Airways parent IAG this week.
Sky News claimed head hunting sources had indicated the announcement could be made on Friday when the airline group reveals its latest financial results.
It will be the former M&S chief’s first appointment at a London-listed company since he announced he was leaving the high street retailer in February.
Bolland is credited with transforming the image of the supermarket chain Morrison, which he ran until 2009, but he had mixed fortunes at M&S where he was unable to turn around its declining sales of women’s clothes.
