Former rugby player switches travel codes

Thomas Cook director of commercial and cruise Marc Bennett is joining rival TUI in a newly-created sports division role.
He becomes UK commercial director of the sport division reporting to Darren Mee, managing director of TUI Travel sport businesses.
Bennett, an ex-professional rugby player, was formerly with Disney.
Mee said: “He is a proven industry veteran and we are looking forward to the tremendous value he will bring to our sport brands”.
Bennett said: “The plan now is to continue the division’s growth in this sector.
“With the Football World Cup in South Africa this summer, the whole world will be thinking about sport. We will be reviewing and optimising the operations of our fantastic portfolio of leading sport companies, having all the businesses fully coordinated.”
