Former SA, India cricket coach launches travel firm
Ex-South Africa and India cricket coach Gary Kirsten is venturing into sports tourism by launching his own travel company.
Gary Kirsten Travel & Tours will be run in collaboration with Cape Africa Tours and will target cricket tourism, offering cricket fans and teams complee travel packages.
Kirsten said it was a natural progression, having already started his cricket academy in Cape Town and Durban.
Owner of Cape Africa Tours, Andrew Russell said the new venture will be promoted during IPL 2015 and South Africa’s tour of India in October-November 2015.
He expects there to be strong demand from the Indian market.
Referring to the cricket academy business Kirsten said: "We are excited about affording local players the opportunity to compete against talented international players and of course, having the opportunity to showcase South Africa’s facilities and cricket talent to the rest of the world,"
