Former travel agent stole from Thomas Cook
A former Thomas Cook travel agent has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work after she created false customer refunds to steal from the company and booked herself a luxury £3,323 holiday.
Hove Crown Court heard that Holly Cull, who worked at the agency’s Worthing branch, only paid £100 towards the cost of the trip.
The 30-year-old, who was living in Lewes at the time, admitted fraud by false representation.
Judge David Rennie accepted that Cull’s fraud was ‘out of character’, reported The Argus, and warned her not to behave in such a ‘stupid’ way again.
She was given a suspended sentence and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work over the next 18 months.
