Former UK marketing director launches new hotels website

Saturday, 18 Apr, 2012 0

Philippa Kaye, the former marketing director of India specialist Ampersand Travel, has launched a new website featuring character hotels for less than £100 a night.

Most of the properties on hotelsunder100.co.uk are in India, Sri Lanka and Zambia but Kaye said there were plans to expand the collection further afield.

The site focuses on privately-owned properties, often family homes, which offer local interaction and experiences.

"We wanted to create a website that has a more personal approach to finding the perfect ‘hidden gem’ properties that can make travelling so special," said Kaye, who lived in India for five years.

"We are aware that price is a key factor in today’s decision making so we decided to focus our efforts on hotel rooms that are under £100, however as people are conscious of ‘budget’ travel in India we also ensure that we personally and visit review all hotels or that they are recommended by a trusted colleague."
