Fred Olsen acquires fourth ship
Fred Olsen Cruise lines is adding a fourth ship to its fleet.
The acquisition of the 32-year-old Grand Latino – a sister vessel to Fred Olsen’s Black Watch – will enable the line to increase the number of cruises dedicated to the UK market.
The ship, which has been operating for Spanish tour operator Viajes Iberojet, is due to enter service for Fred Olsen early next year following extensive refurbishment.
Grand Latino orginially entered service as Royal Viking Sky in 1973 and has a capacity to carry more than 800 passengers.
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ chairman Fred Olsen Jnr said: “This decision reaffirms our commitment to the very buoyant British cruising market.
“A fourth ship, very much in keeping with our unique product style, will allow us to operate an even wider choice of itineraries and home ports for both repeat customers and newcomers to cruising.”
