Fred Olsen targets regional agents
Fred Olsen is looking to recruit more regional cruise agents as part of its multi-media regional ad campaign.
The cruise line has added Harwich, Liverpool and Belfast to its other regional ports making a total of nine regional departure points for 2013/14.
Under the strapline, ‘Bringing the world closer to you’, Fred Olsen is working to increase regional bookings and awareness claiming 90% of the UK population are now within a 90-minute radius of a Fred Olsen cruise.
Nathan Philpot, sales and marketing director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: "We are working hard to raise awareness through regional marketing, such as advertising and posters to drive customers into shops so that the demand is there; we just need agents to take the bookings.
"We would really like more agents around our regional ports to get behind cruising. It’s such an easy sell when a cruise ship is on your doorstep.
"We remain committed to supporting and helping all agents to be successful and profitable. The most successful companies are normally the ones with the widest distribution."
To support the travel trade in promoting this campaign, Fred. Olsen’s sales team will be visiting agents in the Newcastle, Liverpool and Harwich areas and will be providing them with a variety of ‘point of sale’ materials to highlight the benefits of Fred. Olsen’s regional UK cruise programme.
