Fred. Olsen Travel acquires new travel agency store
Fred. Olsen Travel is continuing its travel agency expansion with a new high street store acquisition.
It acquired Ponders Travel in Over, Cambridgeshire earlier this month.
It becomes the company’s 24th retail store.
Ponders Travel was founded by Clare Dudley in 2010 and has been a licensee of Fred. Olsen Travel using the Fred. Olsen Travel financial protection and commercial agreements.
The store will continue to operate under the Ponders Travel brand and leverage Fred. Olsen Travel’s marketing support.
All five team members have been transferred to Fred. Olsen Travel under TUPE regulations, while Clare Dudley joins Fred. Olsen Travel as business development manager.
Julie Berry, managing director of Fred. Olsen Travel, said: “We have always enjoyed a strong partnership with Ponders Travel operating as one of our licensees over the years and now look forward to continuing this relationship.”
Clare Dudley added: “This marks a hugely positive step for Ponders. It remains in a strong position; it’s very much here to stay, and I’m confident it will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
