Free evacuation flights offered from Turkey earthquake zone
Airlines have begun offering free or discounted Turkey earthquake rescue flights.
Turkish Airlines and Pegasus are offering mercy flights as the quake death toll passed 16,000.
Turkish Airlines is offering fixed airfares at 100 Turkish liras (about $5).
The carrier said it has operated over 80 aid flights.
It planned to evacuate at least 30,000 from the quake zone on Wednesday.
Over 19,000 people were evacuated on Tuesday.
Pegasus Airlines started offering free flights this week to help evacuate people from the Turkey earthquake zone.
It offers departures from Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Kayseri, Malatya and Şanlıurfa airports for free until Saturday.
“We are also continuing our efforts to deliver emergency supplies and evacuate those who are affected,” Pegasus said.
