Freedom Travel Group agents have been given access to The Co-operative Travel’s online training system.
The Co-operative Academy Training School (CATS) gives Freedom members access to learning modules on various topics including tour operators, destinations, attraction passes and insurance, as well as compliance issues such as health and safety and data protection.
‘High Flyers’, a management development programme aimed at all levels from apprentice to senior management, has been added made up of more than 50 training modules on topics such as managing a team, motivation, time and performance management.
Freedom managing director Jane Atkins made the announcement to Freedom members as part of a familiarisation visit to Celebrity Cruises new ship Equinox last week in Southampton.
“We are constantly looking at ways for us to improve the Freedom offering to its members, and training is an area from which everyone can benefit,” she said.
“The system is also geared towards achieving points towards the Accredited Travel Professional (ATP) scheme, which offers industry-wide recognition for the training undertaken.
“Freedom’s membership is incredibly diverse, so it is important that training is accessible – and more importantly, relevant – to everyone.
“The introduction of High Flyers ensures that whether you are just starting out, or whether you are the manager of a number of operations, there is something there for you.
“CATS is cost-effective and low on resource, and offers a blend of working styles designed to fit in around the working day.
“It provides a framework for managers to develop staff, and staff with a real incentive to advance their career.”
