French yacht cruise line Compagnie du Ponant is making moves to heighten its profile with the UK travel trade.
A UK toll free reservations line for the trade has been set up on 0808 234 3802 and the company has become a member of the Leading Cruise Agents.
The moves coincide with the publication of a 2010 brochire and the opening of a London office headed by sales director Claire Hancer, formerly with VisitEngland (see previous TravelMole stories).
Sales and marketing senior vice-president Eric Lustman said: "Having appointed Claire Hancer as sales director here in the UK, based at the London office, the introduction of this reservation line was the next important step to take as part of our strategic development into the UK marketplace.
"Claire has also taken the decision for Compagnie du Ponant to join the LCA. These initiatives will really assist Claire in her role of progressing and maintaining relationships with the UK travel trade and MICE market, promoting awareness of our niche products to the luxury and incentive agents, as well as cruise specialists.”
