French police find 182,000 fake Covid passes
French police say they have uncovered about 182,000 fake Covid passes since the summer when they were first introduced.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said 400 investigations were opened into suspected sales of bogus passes, with some tied to healthcare professionals. Darmanin has ordered the police and gendarmerie to beef up controls to cut the number of fake passes in circulation.
France first launched its Covid pass in July and is required for people visiting restaurants, bars, large events and some public transport.
