French police foil ‘imminent attack’
Police in France say they have foiled a terror attack days ahead of the first round of the presidential election.
Two suspects, aged 23 and 29 were detained in Marseille, although the men are said to be from Ermont, north of Paris and Croix, near the Belgian border.
Interior Minister Matthias Fekl said: "They had the aim of committing in the very short term, in other words in the very next days, an attack on French soil."
The first round of the French election is on April 23.
France has been under a state of emergency since the Paris attacks in November 2015.
