French strike to hit air and rail travel
French workers are due to start a national strike at 5pm today, which is likely to disrupt flights between France and the UK.
British Airways said flights to other destinations might also be affected and urged passengers to check the status of their flights before leaving for the airport.
The strike by French workers, who are protesting against government plans to increase the retirement age and raise employee contributions, is expected to last until 5am on Wednesday.
Eurostar said its services to and from France would continue to operate normally, but acknowledged that passengers might not be able to connect to or from other train services within France. In this case, they are being given the option to postpone their journeys.
Eurostar tickets can be exchanged up to 60 days after the initial date of travel for a journey in the next 120 days.
