Fringe Responsible Tourism Event a Huge Success – ITB Next
A London City Bar provided the venue for this year’s fringe Responsible Tourism Networking event.
At least 100 small scale operators, agents and other interested parties packed the Abacus Bar, in the Bank area of London to profile their operations or to listen to short presentations.
The event certainly showed the immense diversity of the tourism industry and the opportunities for those participating in responsible tourism.
A main presentation of the evening was from Rika Jen-Francois from the gigantic ITB Berlin Tourism Fair who have invited the organisers to replicate the event in Berlin next year.
Kerala operator The Blue Yonder and UK-based Your Safe Planet set up the networking event last year to celebrate the first Responsible Tourism day at the WTM, and to bring together Responsible Tourism individuals and organisations.
Said Gopinath Parayil of The Blue Yonder “I think we can proudly say that our 11th evening networking was one of the most talked about and certainly useful and enjoyable evening so far at the World Travel Market this year. It was once again a fantastic feeling to have seen all those young at heart who turned up in big numbers and made their contributions by sharing their amazing experiences.
This year’s turn-out was beyond our own expectations and we would like to invite all those who turned up to share their experiences on the group wall, Facebook Groupso that it is visible for all to read and respond. It will be useful for all those interested in building up this group so that we can continue networking…This doesn’t have to stop with WTM…Please share your comments, experiencesâ€
