Get Moving in North Dakota
When on the road, it’s great to start the day with a walk or to join a wake-up Tai Chi class in the town’s park. A guest ranch is a great place to get moving, where travelers of all abilities can enjoy active outdoor adventures.
Ranch food is always a treat and, after an active day, guests have an opportunity to relax on the porch or around the campfire, and enjoy the view, hear the sounds of wilderness, and share the day’s adventures.
Here are just a few of North Dakota’s guest ranches:
Logging Camp Ranch is near Amidon in the Little River Missouri Valley. Guests can explore this 1880s style ranch, grazing and forest lands, participate in ranch activities, ride horses, hike, hunt, watch wildlife including bison, and attend the many special events held at the ranch and nearby communities.
Knife River Ranch at Golden Valley is a working cattle and horse ranch. It offers horseback riding, roundups, buggy rides, canoeing, swimming, and campfire programs. Its annual special events include branding, cattle trailing, bull runs, roundups and guided trail rides. Wildlife on the ranch includes deer, antelope, pheasant, grouse and wild turkey.
