Frozen movie leads to adult demand for Lapland
Thomson has seen a surge in bookings for Lapland from couples following the runaway success of the cult Disney’s musical Frozen.
Lapland, which is more usually sold as a Christmas destination for families, is attracting loved-up twosomes due to the film’s popularity, said Thomson product director Mark Hall.
Frozen, which became the fifth highest grossing film of all time last winter, has already become a Disney classic, due in part to its catchy songs, including ‘Let it Go’ and ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’.
Online searches for couples breaks in Lapland have risen 15% this year.”Although Lapland remains a firm family favourite destination with thousands of children excited to meet Santa Claus, there is no doubt that the massive universal appeal of the Frozen movie has driven thousands of couples to book a enchanting short break in the snow this winter,” said Hall.
“The region’s idyllic landscape, crackling fires and magical activities are persuading more and more couples to book a romantic break or even say ‘I do’ in this winter wonderland over the festive period.”
