Fulham FC agrees sponsorship deal with Visit Florida
Visit Florida has signed a six-figure sponsorship deal with Fulham FC.
The Visit Florida logo will appear on Fulham Football Club shirts for the 2015/2016 season which kicked off last weekend.
The logo will also be placed on the roof of Fulham’s Craven Cottage stadium which is on the flight path into London Heathrow Airport.
Fulham chairman Shahid Khan has strong Florida ties and is the owner of NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
"I love Fulham and I love Florida, so naturally it brings me a lot of satisfaction to see two of my personal passions become one," Khan said.
"But what’s most important is how much this partnership makes strategic sense for both Fulham and Visit Florida. One of my stated goals has long been the expansion and development of Fulham as an international brand, particularly in the US."
Visit Florida chief marketing officer Paul Phipps said the one-year deal was worth the ‘high six figures.’
"We’re really looking to do some bigger things in the United Kingdom this year as a state. England and the U.K is critical to what we’re doing in tourism," Phipps said.
Fulham has signed several US players in recent years including Clint Dempsey, Kasey Keller and Brian McBride.
