Fully escorted tour reveals Norfolk Island’s all!

Monday, 20 Oct, 2008 0

A unique series of 8-day tours to Norfolk Island for more-mature travellers keen to learn all there is to know about the island’s fascinating convict-era and Bounty Mutineer heritage, will be run by NRMA Travel on a range of dates between February 7 and June 10 next year.

Six days of guided touring take the worry out of having to organise individual tours of the many aspects of the Island’s fascinating history and culture, and there’s also a Meet & Greet and airport transfers for a 7-night stay at the All Season Colonial Hotel, where cooked breakfasts are included daily.

As well there’s an opportunity during five Dinner Shows and Tours to meet and hear the personal stories of descendants of the Bounty Mutineers: these include a Pitcairners 1856 Dinner & Show with re-enactments of Bounty Day, a Sunset Clifftop Tahitian Culture Show and Dinner, Murder Mystery Dinner, a Progressive Dinner in homes of some of the local islanders, and a Ghost Tour and Dinner that are all costed into the tour price.

There’s also a Gardeners Delight tour of local home gardens and an Historic Convict Kingston Tour of the vast original prison complex on the Island.

Prices begin from just $1799pp twin-share ex-Sydney, $1779 from Brisbane and from $1789pp twin-share ex-Newcastle including return air and taxes; there are a total eight departures between February 7 and June 10 next year. A local Norfolk Island tax of $30 is payable on departing the island.
