Galileo doubles self-catering commissions
Galileo has hiked commission payments to agents booking self-catering accommodation.
New commission rates mean that agents can double their revenue and earn up to 15% when making bookings through Galileo Self-Catering, according to the GDS.
Bookings for European properties now earn 15% while UK properties attract 12.5%, up from a previous flat rate of 7.5%. The new commissions apply to self-catering brands under Galileo-owner Cendant’s umbrella.
Galileo Self-Catering features 28 self-catering brands offering more than 17,000 properties in the UK and Europe. Brands include Blakes, English Country Cottages, French Country Cottages, French Life and Italian Life.
Cendant Travel Distribution Services UK & Ireland regional managing director Jason Clarke said: “With the commission increase we are offering agents a welcome boost to their earnings, not something you often get in today’s climate.
“Galileo Self-Catering makes the selling process much slicker too as agents no longer have to trawl through numerous brochures. Instead they are able to view detailed descriptions and compare prices on screen so customers can make an informed choice.”
