The brand’s rapid momentum continues, with nearly 80 additional hotels in the pipeline—set to almost double its global footprint in the coming years. With properties open or in development across 12 countries, Garner is expanding in key markets spanning the United States, Mexico, Italy, and Japan.
Its strong appeal among owners reflects rising global demand for conversion projects, which made up 52% of all IHG room openings in 2025. Competitive cost-per-key, streamlined design standards, lower pre-opening costs, and fast turnaround times have all contributed to its growth, with some hotels converting and opening in just over a month.
Built around the promise of “easygoing stays that get you on your way,” Garner targets travelers seeking comfort, quality, and reliable service at an affordable price. Each hotel reflects its local surroundings while offering the amenities guests value most, including comfortable beds, restful sleep, and a satisfying hot breakfast. Functional workspaces, both in-room and in public areas, also cater to business and blended travel needs.
Karen Gilbride, Global Vice President for Garner Hotels at IHG, said the brand’s early success highlights IHG’s strength in scaling conversion-focused brands that resonate with both owners and guests. She emphasized that Garner’s adaptable model enables faster market entry and strong returns, while noting that the brand is only beginning to unlock its full growth potential.
Global presence
In the Americas, Garner recorded 32 signings and 23 openings in 2025—ranking among the top three IHG brands in the region. Highlights included the brand’s debut in Mexico with Garner Hotel Mazatlán Beach, along with new U.S. locations in Butte, Montana, and near Arizona’s Lake Powell. In 2026, Garner has already expanded into suburban Boston and the greater New York City area.
Across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa (EMEAA), Garner led all IHG brands with 43 openings in 2025. This growth was largely driven by a multi-property agreement in Germany with NOVUM Hospitality, covering a total of 56 open and pipeline hotels. Elsewhere in Europe, the brand launched in Italy, Türkiye, and the UK. In Asia, Garner entered Japan with three openings in Osaka, followed by a Kyoto property, and debuted in Southeast Asia with a hotel in Pattaya, Thailand. The brand also secured its first five signings in India.
Looking ahead, Garner is set to expand into Greater China later this year, further strengthening its global presence and offering travelers new, reliable options in some of the world’s busiest destinations.
