Garuda to link Perth and Europe
Garuda Indonesia has indicated that it will schedule the new flights between Jakarta and Perth to link with code-share partner Etihad Airways’ services from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta.
Garuda Indonesia president & CEO, Emirsyah Satar, said as from June this year the Jakarta-Perth flight schedule would adjust to those of flights to and from Abu Dhabi "to facilitate Garuda Indonesia and Etihad Airways passengers travelling from the Middle East, Europe, and beyond to Western Australia and vice versa".
Garuda Indonesia announced this week that it has increased services to six new destinations in Europe and the Middle East – Frankfurt, Brussels, Milan, Dusseldorf, Munich, and Bahrain – thanks to its code-sharing agreement with Etihad Airways.
Etihad Airways president & CEO, James Hogan said strategic cooperation with Garuda Indonesia gave Etihad Airways access to six million potential tourists in Indonesia and strengthened commercial ties between Indonesia and Middle Eastern countries.
